Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
- Discuss the indications for therapeutic interventions for diabetic retinal disease
- Discuss newer treatment modalities for diabetic macular edema
- Describe a communication approach whereby eye-care professionals can engage their patients to insure that they receive timely ophthalmologic interventions for diabetic eye disease
- Outline a process that can be initiated in an ophthalmologic or optometric practice whereby patients with diabetic macular edema can be insured of receiving the latest treatments for this condition in a timely manner
