Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:

  1. Identify pathophysiologic factors contributing to the hyperglycemia of type 2 diabetes in a clinical setting
  2. Identify when the goals of glycemic control for type 2 diabetes are not being met
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the pharmacologic action of the major pharmacologic treatments for type 2 diabetes and the indications for the use of GLP-1 agonists plus insulin replacement therapy
  4. Demonstrate the ability to advance glycemic therapies for type 2 diabetes to the use of injectable combination therapies when initial treatments are not achieving recommended goals
